We’re always looking for new ways to explore the state of New Hampshire. We’ve got so many great walks and hikes, but hopping on a boat or a train always makes things feel new and exciting. In our quest to find new ways to appreciate the Granite State we realized that there are a fair few options that include horses. This stable located in Franconia offers a number of different tours on horseback and we think it makes for a fun day out!

Exploring the Franconia area on horseback is a wonderful way to get up-close-and-personal with nature.

The stables offer both private and group tours lasting about an hour. They even offer a shorter 5-minute pony ride for kids under 7 years old!

Each 1-hour tour meanders through the forest and fields of the region and allows for beautiful views of Mt. Lafayette, Cannon Mountain and Kinsman Ridge.

Along the route you’ll cross Hamm Branch River where the horses often stop for a drink or even a cheeky splash of their riders.

The area around the river is known as Beaver Bend and it offers a scenic woods path with lots of interesting twists and turns following the riverside.

Spring and summer are a wonderful time to do it, but we especially love fall when the foliage is on display.
