The best and most unique eateries are always worth a road trip. As much of a destination as it is a restaurant, The Yellow Deli in Hiddenite, North Carolina is every bit as pleasing to the palate as it is to the soul. This new Yellow Deli location opened in 2016 and has charmed visitors and locals alike with its creative and eccentric atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently delightful food.
Hiddenite was once a town but is now but a community on the outskirts of Hickory, Lenoir, and Morganton. Aside from the Hiddenite mines found here, you won’t find much to do in this small place — but a visit to The Yellow Deli is a must.

Aside from the decor, the food at The Yellow Deli is beyond expectations. A whimsical four-page menu will make your mouth water as you peruse the all-day breakfast items as well as the soups, salads, create-your-own sandwiches, and more.

As mentioned, breakfast is served all day, so no matter what time you arrive, you’re in for a tasty meal. The Yogart Parfait (seen here) is a huge favorite and features lots of fresh seasonal fruit with granola sprinkles, coconut, and honey served over, under, and around a heaping portion of yogurt.

The deli menu contains both hot and cold sandwiches. Choose from a mouthwatering Reuben, a veggie burger, buffalo chicken, and roast beef. All are tucked neatly into fresh bread from the bakery.
