Kansas has a lot of beauty, especially in the fall when rich colors of red, orange, and gold take over the green of our trees and high grasses. This park is an excellent example of just how beautiful fall foliage can be, if you’ve got the energy to hike it before it gets too cold. Come see the beauty for yourself!

If you get the timing right, it feels like the world is full of red and gold, no matter the trail you choose. This one is Stoptler Cove Nature Trail, only a little over a mile long.

All around the 300 acre lake are trees in every beautiful shade of fall. Reflecting off of the water, it’s like a postcard scene come to life.

The second trail we recommend is the Lake Loop, nearly 10 miles of trail to explore that runs along the lake through plenty more of the park. If you’re a quick hiker, this one’s for you!

The whole park covers 1,500 acres, which is a lot of beauty for one area. When you get the craving for these beautiful colors, you know where to go!

The park is open from 7 a.m. to sundown, 7 days a week. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on leash and picked up after. During the year, the best time to take this hike is mid to late October or early November if it isn’t too cold. Bundle up and come see the beautiful colors our fall brings to the trees!
