Prepare your snow shovels, Nebraskans! The Farmers’ Almanac has released their winter predictions for 2020 and you may want to brace yourselves. A colder than normal AND wetter than normal winter could be on the way. Read on for the details and be ready for anything.
Each year, the Farmers’ Almanac makes predictions for winter weather around the US. This year, we’re in for quite a ride.
Farmers’ Almanac
According to the Farmers’ Almanac, most of the country can expect above-normal winter precipitation, especially the Upper Midwest.

This means more of the white stuff and maybe even some sleet. The weather will be so cold and snowy that the Farmers’ Almanac is calling it a “Polar Coaster Winter.”

January is expected to be particularly cold and the below-freezing temperatures could linger until the end of February.

There’s not likely to be an early spring, either. Better prepare plenty of jackets, scarves, and blankets, and be ready to ride out the long winter.
