We are just heading into leaf-peeping season here in West Virginia and that means winter is right around the corner. Is the colder weather already on your mind? Each year, The Farmers’ Almanac makes predictions for the upcoming winter weather. This year, they’re calling for a “Polar Coaster WInter” across the United States.

The predictions forecast above-average amounts of precipitation across the nation, especially in the East.

Morning commutes might get treacherous with the wintry mix freezing on roads overnight. Allow extra time to get where you need to go,

The month of January is expected to be extra cold with freezing temps sticking around for weeks. Warm blankets and thick jackets are going to be a must this year.

The Spring thaw isn’t expected to come early either. Get your firewood ready and prepare to snuggle in by the fireplace for a while this year.
