Minnesota is about as far from the ocean as you can get. But that doesn’t mean there is no great seafood here. In fact, there are many Minnesota seafood restaurants that serve up fish just as good as anything you’ll find on the coast. Even better, there are plenty of spots that dish up Minnesota’s state fish, the walleye, on the regular. One of our favorite seafood restaurants does a little bit of both. Mac’s Fish and Chips has been around for almost 30 years, and they’re well-known for their delicious fish. Read on to learn everything you need to know about this old-school Minnesota staple.

Mac’s Fish and Chips is a longstanding roadside fish joint that has been open since 1991. The original location is in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Over the years, Mac’s has grown. They now have a second location in Minneapolis.

Being that it’s little more than a roadside shack, the original location does not invite guests to linger. In the summertime, you can take a seat on the outdoor patio to enjoy your fish al fresco.

The newer restaurants have a bit more room inside. The Mac’s dining room is perfect for enjoying a simple but delicious meal.

If you don’t want to go to any of the restaurants, there is another option. Mac’s is the official walleye of the Minnesota Twins! You can grab a bite at Mac’s in section 126 at any Twins home game.
