The powerful beauty of Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park is truly awe-inspiring, yet two tourists took their admiration many steps too far in an attempt to get as close as possible. This national park is notoriously dangerous, given the scalding hot temperature of the thermal pools, yet there is always a clear designation for keeping a safe distance. In other words, one must blatantly ignore signs and markings to come into dangerous proximity to the geysers. And unfortunately, that’s exactly why two tourists were arrested recently.

Park officials noted that two tourists this past week ignored all signs and approached Old Faithful, crossing over the protection fence.

Fortunately, park rangers spotted the activity on a security camera and were able to stop them before anyone was seriously harmed by the geyser’s extreme and life-threatening heat.
