Santa Claus is coming to town, and he’ll be here before we know it. But, before Santa loads his sleigh full of presents for good little boys and girls all over the world, he’s pulling into Union Station in Kansas City for an unforgettable Christmas event. It gets even better. The entire event, including snapping photos with Santa and touring the train, is free.

Kansas City Southern’s Holiday Express Train pulls into Union Station, in Kansas City, on December 18 and welcomes visitors through December 22, 2019.

The Holiday Express Train boasts several festive train cars, including a reindeer’s stable, the elves’ workshop, and a classic red caboose.

If you want to stop by to say hi to Santa and Mrs. Claus, you’ll have to do that before touring the train. Photographs are encouraged, but you’ll have to take your own. (There won’t be a professional photographer on hand.)

Meet Santa and tour the Christmas train at Union Station on December 18, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., December 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and December 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Members of Union Station can visit on December 20, a members-only day, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

General admission entrance is available. However, if you don’t want to risk having to stand in long lines, reserve a time. Reservations will begin on December 13, 2019 at 7 a.m.
