Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that winter has made an arrival in various regions of Northern California. That means it’s officially time to start checking some things off of your winter bucket list! Ice skating should definitely be among them, and we found the most charming destination in NorCal to do so. This themed ice rink not only boasts an excellent indoor skating rink, but it’s also a giant homage to some of our favorite childhood characters: Snoopy and the rest of the gang from the Peanuts comic strip. As the longtime home of famed cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, the town of Santa Rosa boasts plenty of references to his famous cartoon strip. You’ll see the characters of Peanuts all over town, including at Snoopy’s Home Ice—an indoor ice skating rink that’s packed with references to the Peanuts gang.

Also known as the Redwood Empire Ice Arena, this indoor ice rink is a true Santa Rosa gem. Not only does the family-friendly destination boast plenty of nods to Snoopy and his friends, but it was actually owned and built by Charles M. Schulz himself.

First opened in 1969, Snoopy’s Home Ice has become an iconic destination to visit in Santa Rosa. It’s unique atmosphere is perfect for both families or casual skaters looking for a fun time and world-class athletes practicing their sport.

The skating rink offers public skating, private ice time, figure skating, hockey, and so muchh more. A regular skating sessions around this beautiful ice rink costs $10 for adults and $8 for children, with a $4 skate rental.

However, skating isn’t the only thing Snoopy’s Home Ice has to offer! Inside the arena is the Warm Puppy Cafe, which offers a wide variety of local and fresh food and beverages, including sandwiches, salads, burgers, soups, and more.

Don’t forget to stop by the gift shop next door after your skating session. It boasts over 1,500 unique Peanuts products, including one-of-a-kind items that can only be found here. You’ll definitely want to take something home to show off as a souvenir for this unique destination.
