Located in the Apple Hill region of Northern California, El Dorado Orchards has become a popular spot for families looking for some harvest-themed fun. The orchard is open every weekend starting on the third weekend of September and going through the second weekend in November.

The orchard is just one of many orchards and farms in the area that welcome families for the fall season, but they’ve definitely found a way to stand out among the rest. This is because they are home to Apple Hill’s only train ride for over 40 years.

Hundreds upon hundreds of families have made the El Dorado Orchards train ride a beloved family tradition, and it makes sense why. It’s an absolutely charming way to experience the orchard’s scenic beauty!

Climb aboard the open-air train and enjoy the views of the orchard’s picturesque ponds and crop-filled countryside that pass you by. Train rides are available every weekend from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and tickets are just $3.50 per person.

However, the train isn’t the orchard’s only notable feature. They also boast an arts and crafts fair during the harvest season. You could spend hours perusing the handmade goods and talking to the friendly vendors.
