The massive campground in North Dakota’s beautiful Icelandic State Park has over 130 campsites and cabins. From the sky, it almost looks like a small town until you notice most of the house-looking things are RVs.

It is located right on the shore of the scenic Lake Renwick near Cavalier, North Dakota. This spot is gorgeous year round, from having fun out on the boat in the summer to the vibrant colors of fall to great ice fishing in the winter.

With over a hundred campsites, you may think they’d be all cramped together without much privacy but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Each campsite feels like your own cozy little slice of nature among the trees.

Along with RV hookups and places to pitch a tent, the Icelandic State Park campground has multiple cabins. These cabins have electricity, heat, and air conditioning along with a grill outdoors for that perfect camping experience.

Along with the many, many campsites, the park is loaded with things to do. A stroll or a picnic among the trees can be especially breathtaking during the fall.

Explore the forest, walk across a bridge over the Tongue River, and check out the Gunlogson Nature Preserve while you are there.
