The fact that this little store has survived in a humble town like Volcano for nearly 170 years is definitely impressive—to say the least. However, we couldn’t be happier that a historic gem like this is still around, especially since it’s managed to retain it original 19th-century charm over the years.

However, the real highlight of this historic market is the in-house deli where you can order a delicious sandwich, bratwurst, burger, or soup. It’s the perfect spot to grab yourself a little pick-me-up in this tight-knit community.

You’ll enjoy your meal in the market’s historic dining room. Surrounded by authentic stone walls and artifacts from the town’s early days, you may just end up forgetting what year it is. Even the burgers are grilled on a vintage wood stove!
