With fall in full swing, doing some leaf-peeping is at the top of everyone’s seasonal itinerary (or at least it should be). And if you thought the only way to view fall hues was a leisurely car ride or stroll, think again. Granite Peak Ski Area actually offers fall chairlift rides – and the views are as phenomenal as they are vibrant. Take a look:
At just over 1,500 acres, Rib Mountain State Park is a popular spot for picnicking and hiking. But that’s not all it has to offer; it’s also home to the Granite Peak Ski Area.

For a colorful treat, visit between mid-August and October 20th, when Granite Peak offers fall chairlift rides. The fall rides started about 10 years ago and have been a hit for nearly as long.

That’s right; you can hop aboard one of the park’s 6-person chair lifts and take in the multi-colored foliage from high above.

Leaves in orange, yellow, and red create a real feast for the eyes…and the perfect photo-op, so don’t forget your camera.

Since the chairlift moves at a leisurely pace, it’s suitable for everyone from senior citizens to children. (Keep in mind, riders must be at least 3-years-old to ride or a minimum of 36" tall.)

The fun doesn’t end when the chairlift stops, though. Get off at the top of the mountain and walk around, hike, explore, or simply soak in the stunning views.

You can also grab some grub at the outdoor patio bar, which will be open pending weather conditions.
