Comprised of 23 acres, the garden is open year-round and there is no charge for admission. Immediately upon strolling in, you’ll get the sense that this place is something special.

The botanical garden is home to over 4,000 native and adaptive plant species. However, it’s the location that makes this place truly special. With only 120 days of growing season at an elevation of 4,600-feet, the garden’s temperature is known to fluctuate up to 40 degrees in a single day.

On top of its wonky temperatures, the garden only receives around 4 to 8 inches of precipitation throughout the year. These conditions can obviously be deadly for certain plants, but they can actually survive with proper care and maintenance.
