Hilltop Ski Area / Facebook The fun little place was established in 1984. It’s located inside Anchorage municipality, in Far North Bicentennial Park and at the base of the Chugach Mountains.
The whole ski area is about 30 acres of groomed trails.
Rock H / TripAdvisor 80% of the groomed trails are rated beginner, so this is a good spot to bring the whole family! The rest of the trails are divided into 10% moderate, and 10% difficult, so if you want a couple of faster, harder runs, you can also get those in!
The ski slope is very close to Karl Eid Ski Jump Complex.
Hilltop Ski Area / Facebook The complex offers 15 meter, 40 meter, and 60 meter jumps, and will be lit up for evening runs as well. This is a nice complement to the easy trails at Hilltop.
This place is actually a non-profit, dedicated to providing recreational programs to Anchorage’s youth.
Hilltop Ski Area website It’s one of the main reasons most of the runs are rated beginner level. They also offer a fantastic, affordable ski school to teach kids to learn how to ski.
There’s a beautiful little lodge to warm up in, that you can visit during open hours.

If need be, they’ll be busy making snow so everyone in Anchorage can get out and ski!

This year, the lifts open Tuesday, December 10th.
Hilltop Ski Area / Facebook You can ride the lifts from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm., Monday through Friday. On Saturdays you can ski all day from 9:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m., and Sunday you can ski the slopes from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
