Native South Carolinians know if you want to drive out onto – and then park your car upon – the beach, you’re out of luck. In the era of the iconic 1930s Old Folly Beach Pavilion, beach driving and parking were allowed. But those laws changed long, long ago.

But there is one place, a tiny hidden beach, where you’re still allowed to bring your car right out onto the sand and park it there.

It’s a nice convenience to have your vehicle so nearby, especially if you have a lot of gear, or a large group of people. No one likes lugging a day’s worth of stuff all the way over the dunes and down to the beach… much less the frustration of finding a legal parking spot beforehand.

None of the is an issue at the only beach in South Carolina where you can drive right up to the water and park your car.
