The fall season in South Carolina offers a treasure trove of family-oriented outdoor activities including harvest festivals, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and cotton mazes. Wait. What? A cotton maze? But of course! For the fourth consecutive year, Cotton Hills Farm has carved a huge cotton maze into a four-acre cotton field and it’s something to see.

Stop by their farm market every Saturday in October (unless its raining) and you’ll get to make your way through the state’s only cotton maze this fall… and then partake in a whole slew of other fun, family activities.

Every Saturday during the month of October, the typically private farm hosts visitors for farm tours (October 5, 19 & 26) or their annual Farm Fair (October 12).

And during all of those events your ticket includes a fun spin through the cotton maze. If you’ve ever driven by a cotton field and always wanted to stop out of curiosity, then here’s your chance!

Bring the kids for a fun day learning all about the farm and farming life. Every weekend during October, the farm hosts tractor-pulled wagon ride farm tours that last 40 minutes (it’s a BIG farm). Cotton Hills Farm grows not only cotton, but also pumpkins and more. In fact, it’s the largest pumpkin grower in all of South Carolina.

The kids in your group each get a free pumpkin included in the price of admission. And over in the barn, they’ll find markers and more to decorate the pumpkin before taking it home (that means the mess stays on the farm, Mom).

Other activities available for both the Farm Tour and Farm Fair Saturdays in October: a visit with some barnyard residents, pumpkin games like pumpkin putt-putt, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin ring toss, and more.

For the littlest members of the family, there’s a hay bale maze they can take on all by themselves and since the maze isn’t very tall, Mom or Dad can keep a watchful eye.

But for many who visit Cotton Hills Farm during October each year, a spin through the annual cotton maze is a must. Heck, with four weeks of Saturdays, you could go through the maze the first weekend in October and then again at the end of October to see a totally different stage of cotton growth each time!

Cotton Hills Farm is open for farm tours on October 5, 19 & 26, 2019 and for their annual Farm Fair on October 12, 2019 from 10 a.m to 4:30 p.m. (the last tour departs the farm market at 3:30 each of those days). Extra attractions at the Farm Fair that aren’t available during the Farm Tours include food vendors and live bluegrass music. Tickets are $8/age 13 and over, $6/kids 2-12, kids 1 and under are free.
