The last place you’d expect to find incredible cheese is a college campus – but that’s exactly the case with MAFES Sales Store. Part of Mississippi State University, the store sells cheese that’s made right on campus – and has been since the 1930s! Visiting the shop is a must for any cheese lover. And for those who can’t travel to the store, there’s online ordering. Take a look:

This is MAFES Sales Store. A unit of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (MAFES), the store is housed in the Herzer Food Science Building on the MSU campus.

At first glance, it looks like any other building on a college campus – but that couldn’t be further from the truth. And that’s because it’s full of incredible cheese along with other products made on campus.

Basically an MSU tradition, on-campus cheese production began back in 1938 with Edam cheese. Today, the tradition continues as the campus processing plant churns out more than 100,000 pounds of cheese a year!
