Located in the center of Oahu south of the H-1 freeway and north of Pearl Harbor’s West Loch is the city of Waipahu, one of Hawaii’s most dangerous cities. The village tells the story of the island’s sugar cane workers and life on the plantation circa 1850 to 1950, as well as the history of immigration to Hawaii. This traditional-style haunted attraction draws from the already paranormal activity at the village: just add some creepy music, strobe lights, eerie mist and at least 50 costumed actors and you have a terrifying Halloween wonderland sure to scare even the biggest horror fans.

According to the Hawaii Plantation Village staff, more than a dozen actors at the haunted attraction have quit throughout the twelve years the attraction has been open — and now, actors are not allowed to work in the houses by themselves due to supernatural activity.

A few years ago, in the Portuguese house, an actor reported strange bruising on her leg — as though somebody, or something, had grabbed her. Another actor claimed to feel pressure on her neck, barely being able to breathe in the Okinawan house.

General admission is $15. You can also pay $20 for fast passes, or $30 for VIP tickets, which allows you access to two secret rooms. There are no presale tickets, and once capacity is met, you will be turned away: the ticket booth accepts cash only and opens at 6:15 p.m. before the haunt opens at 7 p.m.
