The temperatures may be dropping and the snow has started to fall, but that doesn’t mean the adventures have to end. In fact, Idaho’s winter scenery is something every outdoor enthusiast should take some time to explore, especially because we’re home to so many stunning snow-covered destinations. One of the best destinations in the Gem State for jaw-dropping winter scenery is the one and only Harriman State Park. Although definitely a popular summertime destination, Harriman State Park is slowly but surely making a name for itself when it comes to winter fun. Whereas other parks may shut down or go dormant for winter, Harriman makes it a goal to stay just as accessible and active when it comes to hosting visitors and events.

Additionally, the park offers a long list of fun winter attractions, the most popular being cross-country skiing. Harriman boasts over 25 miles of groomed trails for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing which stretch all over the pristine frosty landscapes.

A relatively recent addition to the park includes fat-biking. Introduced to the park for the first time just a couple years ago, Harriman became the first state park to offer such a thing. Although still new, this unique activity is seeing more participants with each season.
