However, it’s the restaurant’s history that really sets it apart from any other restaurant in the state. First opened in 1890 as the Opera House Cafe, the diner operated inside of its original structure all the way until 1961 when a fire unfortunately destroyed much of it.

The cafe has been remodeled a handful of times since then but it has always held on to its original historic charm. Walking into this charming eatery, you can’t help but think of all the people that have eaten here in years past. In fact, even Ernest Hemingway was known to stop by for a bite back in the day!

Today, the diner still delivers what it always has—wholesome comfort food that fills you with warmth from the first bite. On the menu are classic dishes like burgers, steaks, sandwiches, soups, and salads. It’s typical diner food, but it’s definitely delicious.
