There are so many ways to see the fall leaves in Minnesota! Take a hike through the woods, or ride high above the woods on a mountain gondola. There are even one or two gorgeous boat rides that will allow you to take in the season’s changing colors from the water. Today, we add another option, this one great for those who love all things trains, trollies, and streetcars. Take a trolly ride on the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line to experience Minnesota’s colorful changing leaves!

The Como-Harriet Streetcar Line is a set of historic trollies now run by the Minneapolis Streetcar Museum. The museum also operates the Excelsior Streetcar Line.

The streetcars date back to the turn of the century! Some were used as streetcars in the Twin Cities until the 1950s when the streetcars were shuttered.

Inside, the trollies are as charming as they are on the outside. Though they have been restored, many historic details have been preserved.

When it comes to riding the Como-Harriet streetcars, they run between Lake Harriet and Bde Maka Ska in south Minneapolis. You can catch your ride at the Linden Hills Station, on Queen Avenue South, or at the Lake Calhoun platform on Richfield Road.

You’ll pass thicker areas of orange and foliage, as well as charming city streets lined with changing trees.

The rides last about 15 minutes and run continuously. If you miss your ride, there’s always another one coming! In October, the streetcar runs every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
