When you’re looking for a place to stay overnight where you’ll be surrounded by Oregon’s natural beauty, you have tons of great choices. You’ll find lodges, campgrounds, yurts, and more in the Beaver State’s national forests, but if you want a truly unique place to lay your head, you’ll book a stay at a fire lookout tower. The Green Ridge Lookout is located in the Deschutes National Forest, about 17 miles from the town of Sisters. It sits high on a ridge, about 2,000 feet above the valley floor below.

The lookout tower was built in the 1960s, and it’s 20 feet tall. It’s rustic, but outfitted with everything you need.
