Situated up on Cheat Mountain, the Village at Snowshoe Mountain Resort is one of our favorite places to visit during the winter and holiday seasons.

Taking you away from it all for the ultimate staycation retreat, the Village at Snowshoe has long been considered to be West Virginia’s Island in the Sky.

During the winter, you’ll find people from all around the Mountain State making their way here to enjoy the skiing, snow tubing, and scenic sights that are offered.

Our favorite part of the resort though is the actual village, something that will make you feel like you’re in a movie or have been teleported overseas.

The Village has a variety of shops, giving you the chance to shop for things like clothes, winter gear, crafts, and even sweets and candy.

While a delicious array of restaurants are also at the ready here, catering to a variety of visitors with spots like Cheat Mountain Pizza, Foxfire Grille, Sunset Cantina, Old Spruce Draft House, a Waffle Cabin, and even Starbucks!

When we’re not walking across the snow-covered cobblestone streets of the Village, you’ll find plenty of us booking a stay at the resort to enjoy this little slice of the sky for as long as we possibly can.
