Unique places to stay overnight abound in Texas, but this one just might take the cake. Antlers Inn in Kingsland features four real train cars that have been converted into quaint little guest rooms.
All three cabooses were once fully operational and have been refurbished as little as possible to retain authenticity. Each car still has the conductor’s area in the front, so little ones (and the young at heart!) can ring the bell and feel like big shots.

The fourth accommodation, a bright red wooden rail car, has a cute little covered staircase leading up to the entrance. All of its amenities are identical to the other three.

Amenities include climate control, full beds and baths, living area with a TV, kitchenette, and an outdoor gas grill complete with a picnic table. It’s luxury and minimalism rolled into one.

Bunks are provided for the kiddos, so everyone gets plenty of space to spread out. It doesn’t get much better!

The main hotel has six suites, each one featuring antiquated decor and old-fashioned wooden paneling. It’s an escape to days of yore without sacrificing any of the creature comforts you’re used to.

Enjoy leisurely mornings in bed - with bottomless coffee, of course - while gazing out through large picture windows into the train yard. Both the views and vibe are simply unparalleled.
