The Golconda annual Shrimp Festival is coming up this month, and there’s just one day to enjoy this Illinois tradition. Whether you love it for the food, activities, or atmosphere, everyone has a reason to mark their calendars for this fair.

Taking place Saturday, September 21, 2019, the Shrimp Festival in southern Illinois is an annual event that locals along the Ohio River look forward to every year.

This one-day event will take place downtown between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. It will feature excellent comfort food and wine as well as a myriad of fun activities to enjoy.

In addition to shrimp, there will be other Illinois-grown prawns and a wealth of traditional fair foods to enjoy, such as award-winning BBQ, corn dogs, funnel cakes, and more.

There will be a plethora of activities for all ages. Enjoy a buggy ride or ride in a helicopter. There will also be a corn hole tournament, live music, and more throughout the day.

A farmers market is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 12 a.m. as part of the Shrimp Festival and will include all sorts of local products from baked goods to popcorn and more.
