Savage Winery was founded in 2013. It came about after the owners had spent years making wine as a hobby, and people finally convinced them that they should be offering it to everyone in the area. It’s located about 36 miles south of Buffalo in the town of Chaffee.

The winery specializes in sweet wines, and you’ll find an array of delicious varieties to choose from. Try a sip of the Vidal wine, a soft, sweet white wine, or try the Apple Spice, a sweet wine made with fresh apples.

The berry wines are the specialty of the house. Throughout the season, you’ll find blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, primal (a mix of raspberries and blackberries) and loganberry.

Try a two-ounce tasting, or get a flight of three or seven different kinds. Flights include a free glass to take home with you.

Once you’ve sipped some wine, it’s time to say hello to the llamas! These furry creatures are quirky, intelligent animals who are always curious about new guests.
