Don’t expect to have a whole lot of lounging time, though. This is a working ranch, after all, and there is work to do each and every day. Upon arrival you’ll be matched up with one of the well-behaved horses. This will be your horse for the whole time you’re here, so you’ll have time to bond and get to know one another.

Jerry, the ranch boss, will make sure you feel comfortable and learn the basics before setting out for the first time. They only accept a small number of guests each week to ensure that no one gets lost in the crowd.

Depending on the time of year and the business needs of the ranch, guests will participate in activities like branding calves, checking fences, putting out salt, sorting pairs, roping, and other routine chores. This is no spa retreat, nor is it the kind of place where you’ll want to just lie around all day. This is where you go to experience real, hands-on ranching life.
