When you have little ones in your lives, Halloween is fairly simple: cute costumes, trick or treating, maybe a corn maze or something of the like. But for those who don’t have young children or prefer some spooky adult fun as well, Halloween becomes a whole different kind of party. This year, Purgatory returns to Billings for a two-day extravaganza you won’t want to miss.
The event that is now Purgatory (formerly known as Heaven and Hell) got is start all the way back in 2006, when RMF Entertainment kicked things off in Missoula.

So what is Purgatory, exactly?
Purgatory Halloween Facebook In short, it’s one enormous dance party spread over two days, several venues, and featuring plenty of DJs and live bands. It is, by far, the largest Halloween event in the state of Montana.
This year, the party kicks off at the Petroleum Club on Friday, October 26.
Billings Petroleum Club Facebook This event will be an upscale pre-party at 8 p.m., although costumes are still highly encouraged. This party is for ages 21 and over.
On Saturday, October 27, you’ll want to put on your dancing shoes (and a costume you can move in).
Daisy Dukes Saloon and Dance Hall Facebook The Main Stage event will be held at MetraPark at 8 p.m. This is a huge dance party, and it’s also the only venue that is 18 and over. For the others, you’ll have to be 21.
The party at Daisy Dukes focuses more on country music, with a little pop and hip hop thrown in for good measure.
Red Door Facebook Daisy Dukes is also where the costume contest is, with a grand prize of $500. Red Door is also participating, offering two rooms of fun - including one dedicated solely to karaoke.
