Fairy Fall is a beautiful but little-known waterfall in Stillwater, Minnesota. It’s accessible via a trail off Highway 95 on Fairy Falls Road, across from Orwell Avenue.

Though the hike to the waterfall is short - under a mile in length - it is not maintained. The unpaved path is steep in areas and may be filled with ruts and roots. Be sure to step with caution!

As you take the half-mile trek through the forest near Stillwater, you’ll be treated by the sight of lush trees, bright green plants, and a shallow stream.

This is a trail that is beautiful all year long. In the summertime, you’ll find it filled with thriving foliage and maybe even glimpses of wildlife.

But there are reasons to visit in other seasons. In winter, the snow-covered forest is perfectly peaceful in its silence. And in spring and fall, when the snow melts and the rains come, the shallow stream rises.
