Small towns often get a bad rep for being a little creepy, but sometimes it’s for good reason. This town’s history is dark and it rings throughout it’s present. Located just under two hours from Milwaukee, you’ll find the tiny town of Plainfield is filled with some insane paranormal activity.

Most notably is that Plainfield is home to the infamous murder, Ed Gein, also known as the “Butcher of Plainfield.”
Plainfield Opera House - Wisconsin / Facebook When Gein was apprehended in 1957 under suspicions of involvement with the disappearance of Bernice Worden, investigators discovered far more than expected: mutilated human body parts seemed to be the medium-of-choice for Gein’s horrifying creations.
Plainfield is Gein’s final resting place.

Although Gein only ultimately confessed to two murders, many believe his heinous work extended to neighboring towns.
