Pawnee Bill Ranch In Oklahoma Was Named One Of The Best Western Museums In The Country

True West Magazine recently named The Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum the top museum in the country in their “Cowboys, Indians, Lawmen, and Outlaws” category. The museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the American West and visitors are welcomed to come explore everything there is to offer here in Pawnee.

The Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum was the home of Wild West Show entertainer, Gordon W. “Pawnee Bill” Lillie. It’s located on 500 of the original 2,000 acres in Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Visitors can now visit the ranch including the fourteen-room mansion that is fully furnished with the original belongings of the Lillie Family.

The home was built in 1910 and was recently closed for repairs. But done worry, all the repairs are complete and the mansion is back open to visitors.

Touring the home takes you back in time to a different era. It’s filled with memorabilia, photographs, original artwork, and more from the Lillia family.

Also located on the ranch is a museum with exhibits pertaining to Pawnee Bill, Wild West Shows, and the Pawnee tribe.

You’ll also find a herd of bison, longhorn, and horses roaming the ranch. You can also drive the ranch and enjoy the beauty of the pastures.
