When it comes to hidden gems, Crawdad Hole fits the bill. Not only is the eatery located in a small town, but it’s housed in a former service station – both of which mean it’s easy to pass up. But you’ll definitely want to seek out this restaurant since it serves some of the tastiest seafood around. Take a look:

Things aren’t always what they seem. Take the Crawdad Hole, for example. From the outside, it looks like a gas station, but it’s actually a great restaurant.

Though it’s been a restaurant for years, the interior still bears signs of the building’s past as a service station.

Nods to the building’s former life aren’t limited to the interior of Crawdad Hole, though. Three gas pumps still stand in front of the restaurant.

However, after one bite of the tasty fare, you’ll be convinced that the Crawdad Hole has fully transformed from a service station into a restaurant – and a good one at that.

In addition to serving up the “hottest, juiciest crawfish around,” the eatery serves all the spicy boiled sides that go along with crawfish, like corn, potatoes, and sausage.

Crawfish aren’t the only seasonal seafood on the menu. There are also Gulf oysters.

Boiled shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce and crab legs are also part of the under-the-sea fare.

There’s more to the Crawdad Hole than seafood, though. The eatery also serves other regional favorites, like hot tamales and boiled peanuts.

After making a decision on what to order, you’ll have to decide where to eat it.

In addition to an interior dining area, there’s also a screened in porch with tables.

Or, if it’s a nice day, you can dine outside, alongside the gas pumps.
