There’s nothing like some good old-fashioned family fun.

Here in Ohio, fall time is the best time for this kind of fun. All throughout the state, corn mazes, pumpkin patches and sunflower fields color the Ohio countryside. If you’re looking for a unique way to embrace classic fall fun, consider visiting Tom’s Maze and Pumpkin Farm in Germantown this autumn. It’s a massive corn maze that’s also a puzzle. Both kids and adults alike love this one-of-a-kind attraction. Here’s why it makes the picture perfect fall day trip destination:

Welcome to Tom’s Maze and Pumpkin Farm, where fun is required and the 8-acre corn maze is also a puzzle waiting to be solved.

With more than 3 miles of paths to explore, this massive maze is also a puzzle. Don’t worry though; if you get lost, there are maze workers stationed at multiple observation bridges to help you.

Tom’s Maze/Facebook Over the last few years, this beloved corn maze has won multiple awards, including a spot on the top 10 Best Corn Mazes for USA TODAY’S 10 Best Readers’ Choice travel award in 2018.

In addition to finding your way out of the maze, your challenge is to collect 12 puzzle pieces hidden in mailboxes that are placed throughout the maze.

Completing the puzzle is especially fun for families. This year, the maze and pumpkin farm opens for the season on September 13. You can visit Thursday - Sunday until November 2.

Tom’s Maze/Facebook Hours of operation are: Thursday 12 p.m. - 6 p.m., Friday - Saturday 12 p.m. - 10 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Each year, the maze is replanted. Pictured is the design of last year’s maze.
