Nolanica Has An Incredibly Unique Nicaraguan And Creole Inspired Menu

Sure, there are plenty of po’boy shops, Cajun and Creole restaurants, Italian and Mexican restaurants, the list goes on and on. But there’s one little joint over in Kenner that’s serving some authentic Nicaraguan cuisine with a New Orleans twist that you need to try. Hungry? Keep reading.

Tucked away in a shopping center in Kenner, NolaNica is one of those hidden gems that’s easy to miss, but worth the extra effort to seek out.

Established in 2015, NolaNica is a tiny but mighty eatery that’s perfectly casual and inviting.

You won’t find many other restaurants around the city where you can sink your teeth into dishes like this.

Their Sandwich de Bistec is also one for the books. Thinly sliced beef steak stopped with caramelized onions in refried beans on French bread. This take on a po’boy is certainly going to make you a customer for life.

But the star of the show at this humble restaurant is the NolaNica Burger. Topped with fried cheese, sweet plantains and a creamy slaw all in between a yummy toasted coconut bun, this is one of the most unique burgers around New Orleans.
