As if we Arizonans didn’t have reason enough to feel proud, yet another excuse has made itself known. According to Allstate, nine of the country’s safest driving cities are located right here in the Grand Canyon State! Did your hometown make the cut? You’ll just have to keep reading in order to find out.

A report by Allstate released earlier this year lists the nation’s top 200 safe driver cities.

Scottsdale is #15 on the list, meaning its drivers can proudly call themselves the best in Arizona.

Wikipedia Commons/Joseph Plotz Allstate’s report used the average time between insurance claims to make its judgments. In Scottsdale, the average time between claims is just under 12 years, approximately one year longer than the national average.

Mesa sits ever so slightly behind Scottsdale, taking the very next spot at #16.

26th on the list is Chandler, in which drivers file a claim filed every 11.2 years.

Next up for Arizona’s safest driving cities, Peoria takes the #35 spot.

Tucson, Gilbert, Tempe, Phoenix, and Glendale are the other five cities that made Allstate’s list.

You might be wondering why we Arizonans are so skilled behind the wheel.

Flickr/emdot Maybe it’s because we have to drive on steep, winding mountain roads on a daily basis - whatever the reason, let’s just be proud of this little victory!
