Thanks to its German heritage, New Ulm has many interesting attractions. One, the Hermann Heights Statue, is a must-see spot all year. But in winter, it becomes an especially great vantage point over the town.

Other parts of New Ulm may also bring you to great heights. For example, Flandrau State Park rises over a lovely river valley. A blanket of snow makes it silent, serene, and absolutely spectacular.

Also just outside of downtown is August Schell Brewing Company. Open all year, this historic spot - the second-oldest family-owned brewery in the nation - is a beautiful and fascinating visit.

But don’t stay out of downtown New Ulm! The charming downtown is filled with shops, restaurants, and history. It’s gorgeous in snow, especially when holiday festivities are underway.
