The after-holiday lull can get, well, pretty boring. The twinkling lights in our neighborhoods have gone dark. All that cooking, shopping, and gift-wrapping is done for another year, and now we settle in to the long, cold winter ahead. Add some magic and fun to your winter when you visit this spectacular four-day IceFest in Pennsylvania that boasts a full menu of activities for the whole family.

Bundle up the whole family for a visit to IceFest, in Downtown Chambersburg, an annual four-day festival that’s set for January 30 through February 2, 2020. The popular festival celebrates its 18th year in 2020.

One of the highlights of the festival is, of course, the intricate ice sculptures that just might drop your jaw. The festival, in fact, will feature more than 30 tons of ice. Marvel at the already-carved ice sculptures, and…

Ever sat on an ice throne? Now’s your chance! Once you’ve had your photo taken as you sit upon your frozen throne, head over to the ice slide. Yep, you read right: An ice slide.

However, this isn’t your average ice slide. The double-wide slide, aglow in LED lights, drops a breathtaking 40 feet. Rides are free for kids (and adults) of all ages.

IceFest PA The ice slide will be open Thursday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The weekend will feature a ton of other fun, too. Do you make a mean chili? Enter the Chili Q, or just stop by. Pay $10 for 10 cups of samples.
