A fun fact about this park is that it has a history of strange noises. The name “Machimoodus” actually derives from a Native American phrase that means “the place of bad noises.”

Scientists have discovered that these noises were actually microearthquakes, so don’t be frightened. Whether you want to hike, fish, or relax, this is still a natural oasis full of beauty.
