Montana is home to so many delicious steakhouses, it’s impossible to determine which one is the best of the best (that’s a matter of personal opinion). That being said, there’s no denying that The Mint Cafe and Bar in Belgrade (not to be confused with the many other Mints in Montana, which are independently owned) ranks among the top spots to enjoy a hearty meal. Not only does the building have a century-old history, but the neon sign is an iconic part of Main Street.

The Mint’s history goes all the way back to 1904, when the building was used as a diner for local railroad workers.

The Mint’s most recent reopening was in early 2016, almost a year after it had closed its doors.

Albert looped in Noah Corwin and Joe Barnett, two other industry professionals.

The Mint Cafe and Bar, Belgrade MT Facebook The three had known each other for a combined 20 years, and together they’ve worked to make The Mint better than ever.

Steaks are far from the only thing you’ll find on the menu here, but they’re still the specialty.

The Mint Cafe and Bar, Belgrade MT Facebook The prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights is exceptional.

The steaks all come with a side, one sauce, and a soup or salad.

Tony T / TripAdvisor If you’re not up for a steak, try the stroganoff, local pork chop, lasagna, or a tasty wedge salad. The menu is full of tempting entrees that make deciding on dinner a challenge.

The Mint has weekly specials that are way too good to resist, like Taco Night on Tuesdays and live music and $5 martinis on Thursdays.

The Mint Cafe and Bar, Belgrade MT Facebook If you have children, take them on Mondays, when kids 12 and under eat free.

The Mint is open daily from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., except on Fridays and Saturdays when it stays open until 10 p.m.
