In case you haven’t noticed, the Tacoma housing market is having a moment. Washington’s third largest city is currently third in the entire nation when it comes to competitiveness for buyers, according to Redfin. But even if you’re not in the market for a new house or even considering a move, it’s worth noting that Washingtonians seem to be falling in love with Tacoma left and right (and we can’t blame them).
Tacoma is located in Pierce County, on the banks of Puget Sound.

That being said, Seattle’s high priced housing market is far from the only reason people are lining up to live in Tacoma.

Tacoma really does have a little bit of everything: award-winning restaurants, shopping districts, a rich nightlife, and a thriving theater scene, for starters.

Every neighborhood has its own character, and you’ll find everything from century old neighborhoods full of Craftsman homes to up-and-coming urban dwellings.

Tacoma’s close proximity to nature is also a big draw for Washingtonians who want to have it all.
