One of the best hiking trails in the state is the Narrows Trail in the beautiful Wichita Mountains. It’s not too long but it’s definitely a trail for experienced hikers due to the rugged terrain. One of those trails is The Narrows Trail - a 1.4 mile loop that takes you to the top of Boulder/Eagle Mountain.

It’s rated as moderate due to the terrain you’ll have to navigate over towards the end of the hike.

You can find the trailhead at the parking lot just past Lost Lake. Most of the trail is easy to navigate, so if you didn’t want to climb boulders, you can still enjoy part of the hike.

When you get near the top, you’ll scramble over boulders, and this is where it gets tricky because there is no actual trail from this point.

You’ll also get to experience the beauty of Cache Creek and enjoy lots of solitude on this hike. It’s not a heavily trafficked trail, so you won’t see very many people on your adventure.

Even though the hike isn’t very long, plan on spending at least a few hours on the trail. It takes extra time to navigate the land and you’ll want to spend some extra time enjoy the gorgeous scenery.
