The parking lot is located about two miles into the Shawvers Run Wilderness. Follow the signs for the Hanging Rock Overlook.

The trail itself will lead you through the woods and, within less than 0.5 miles, you’ll arrive at one of the most spectacular mountain overlooks in the region.
