Virtual hands up if you’ve been counting down the days until fall for months now. Sure, summer’s a blast, but there’s just something so enchanting about fall that we can’t help but celebrate when it arrives. Most of us fill our season with fun fall activities – from leisurely hikes to admire the fall foliage to visiting local farms to pick pumpkins. For a day of family-friendly activities this fall, plan a visit to Johnson Farms, which boasts a 40-acre pumpkin patch in Missouri.
Tucked within the 140-acre working Johnson Farms in Belton, the 40-acre pumpkin patch is just one of the many fun activities that await this fall.

Grab a wheelbarrow then head out to the sprawling pumpkin patch, where you can pick all of the pumpkins you need for your autumn decorating and baking.

Then, park your full wheelbarrow in the special parking lot. Pumpkins cost $.45 per pound if you buy less than 100 pounds. That price drops to $.35 per pound when you buy more than 100 pounds of pumpkins.

All the pumpkin picking might have you a bit parched. How does an apple cider slushy and a pumpkin spice donut sound? The Barnyard Grill features a menu of other favorites, too, including burgers.

Ready for some more fun? The kiddos (and you!) can get their faces painted. Other activities include a jumping pillow, a giant maze tunnel, and a corn bin pit.

A trip to the farm certainly wouldn’t be complete without a visit with the animals, including the resident goats and pigs.
