Let’s go on a drive today, PA! Remember the good old days when long, leisurely drives were the way we spent our Sundays? That tradition seems to have gone by the wayside, unfortunately, but that doesn’t mean we can’t revive it for special occasions, right? Hit the road on this two-hour fall drive in Pennsylvania that provides sweeping views of the fall foliage.

Roll down the windows, and enjoy the cool fall breeze as you begin your drive along the 36-mile Longhouse National Scenic Byway, which will take you through some of the most breathtaking spots in the Allegheny National Forest.

Jakes Rocks Overlook. In fact, if you have the time, pull over to the overlook for sweeping views of the fall foliage.

Bring lunch along too, so you can have a picnic at Jakes Rocks Overlook, or another stop along the way, as you admire the fall scenery.

If you want more information about Allegheny National Forest, stop by Bradford Ranger Station, also along the scenic byway. You’ll also pass the Old Powerhouse Museum.

Really want to get outside, stretch your legs, and maybe go on a hike? Pull over at the trailhead for the Morrison Run Trail. The 5.3-mile trail features large boulders, flowing streams, and local wildlife including turkey and deer.
