The best way to truly explore the beauty of Connecticut is by lacing up your hiking boots and hitting a trail. You don’t have to be an experienced hiker to get out there; our state has plenty of gorgeous trails that are easy enough for beginners. The Wadsworth Falls Trail is one of them and you’re going to want to explore it soon.
Wadsworth Falls State Park encompasses 285 acres of pretty, forested land. It’s a beautiful place to explore year-round, and you’ll find it in the south-central part of the state, nested on the banks of the Coginchaug River.

The Wadsworth Falls trail is 3.6 miles out and back and it’s a level, flat trail that’s doable for just about anyone. The trail system at this park makes it easy to combine more than one trail to make a loop.

There are two falls at this park: the Little Falls and the Big Falls, which is right on the Coginchaug River. The Big Falls drops about 30 feet into the river below and it’s an impressive display.
