Discovery Green Park in Houston has provided a perfect solution to that dilemma with Flea by Night: an open-air bazaar that lasts from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month. The next one will be held on September 21, so mark your calendars!
Discovery Green is a massive urban park in Downtown Houston boasting over 600 free events each year. These activities include live music performances, holiday festivities, and - as we’ll be highlighting today - eclectic markets that offer a variety of wares.

On the third Saturday of each month (weather permitting), Discovery Green transforms into a bustling flea market. 6 p.m. is when the action kicks off, so you’ll get to enjoy a bit of lingering daylight before dusk falls.

Once night officially falls, the real fun begins. Presented by Green Mountain Energy, hundreds of shimmering lights illuminate the park and make for a shopping trip like nothing you’ve ever experienced.

Local artists and designers offer everything from homemade crafts to mid-century, modern furniture. Peruse the booths and pick up some neat finds to liven up every area of the house.

Clothing, jewelry, and other personal items make up a large portion of the inventory. Many vendors use reused or recycled materials, so your purchases may even contribute to environmentalism.
