Whether you’ve lived in Southern California your whole life or just long enough to call this place home, you already know that SoCal has many pockets of paradise that are a delight to discover. Whether you’re drawn to quaint small towns, breezy beach towns, or cozy mountain towns, you’ll find all of those things in SoCal. Although it’s hard to choose where to find the most peaceful place of all, we think we have discovered a new favorite that goes straight to the top of the list.

Welcome to the town of Fawnskin! This local gem in San Bernardino County is at the top of our list when it comes to discovering one of SoCal’s most peaceful towns.

Although people may be most familiar with nearby Big Bear, the town of Fawnskin is a short drive away and a truly delightful place to visit in the SoCal mountains.

Just because Fawnskin isn’t a bustling town doesn’t mean it lacks all the conveniences of the more well-known destinations nearby. You’ll find great restaurants, cozy lodging, and plenty of outdoorsy destinations to enjoy while you’re here.

Peaceful nature hikes and walking trails are one more reason to adore Fawnskin while soaking up that fresh mountain air. One of our favorites is Gray’s Peak Trail.

For those who love spending as much time outdoors as possible, you won’t want to miss a visit to Captain John’s Fawn Harbor and Marina where you can rent boats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards.

And just wait until there’s snow on the ground in the winter season. It’s quite magical around here when the snowy season approaches.

When it comes to a peaceful overnighter there are plenty of cozy places to rest your head. One place that seems to be at the top of everyone’s list is the Inn at Fawnskin – a cozy log cabin Bed and Breakfast that will make you feel right at home.
