It’s that time of year again, folks! No, I am not talking about back-to-school or pumpkin-flavored everything, but rather the time when the Farmer’s Almanac (billed as being “America’s #1 almanac and oldest continually published periodical”) gives their predictions about the upcoming winter! While we wish the publication – which has had 80% accurate forecasts since 1792 – had good news to share, it does not, thanks to lots of cold and snow on the radar:

This summer has set records around the Centennial State, and it looks like winter will do the same - only with frigid temperatures and lots of snow.

Throughout the U.S., the Farmer’s Almanac is calling for below-normal winter temperatures through March plus more snow than usual, with Colorado right smack-dab in the middle of it all.

Not only is it going to be cold and dark, but Farmer’s Almanac editor Janice Stillman predicts it will feel like a “never-ending winter,” thanks to frigid temperatures beginning in early January and lasting well into the spring.

Do you love snow? Then it is a good thing you live in Colorado, as we should not only get the frequent flurries and “no fewer than seven big snowstorms from coast to coast,” but another two big storms come April.

If you are a lover of hot weather and never want this unprecedented summer to end, there is some good news for you, as the Almanac also forecasts scorching hot temperatures again next summer.
