Here in Ohio, we’re fortunate to have so many beautiful waterfalls to chase on a relaxing weekend afternoon—and if you don’t have the time for an all-day hike, there’s plenty to see that don’t require much hiking at all. (Be sure to check out this list of waterfalls that require little to no hiking.) Paine Falls Park in Leroy Township is an underrated metro park with a gorgeous waterfall that’s easily accessible. You can practically drive right up to these falls, which are located less than an a quarter of a mile away from the designated parking area.

Here’s why you’ll want to visit this one-of-a-kind park the next time you’re in the area:

Welcome to Paine Falls Park, a beautiful little valley that’s home to a majestic waterfall and part of the Lake Metroparks system.

The falls feature multiple tiers that creature beautiful cascades. After heavy rainfall, the falls flow strong and powerful.

You can view the falls from an observation deck that’s just a short 0.12-mile walk from the parking lot. The park’s official hours are 6 a.m. - 11 p.m.

On site, you’ll also find a spacious picnic shelter. It’s the perfect place to stop and have lunch during your visit.
